Reader Question: What Blogs Allow AdSense?

My recent post on the Success of my client’s blog Nursing School Programs must have got some people thinkin’. And thinkin’ is dangerous, because it leads to self-improvement. :) Anyhoo, I got a question from someone via my contact form:

There are a couple of Wordpress blogs that you offer - are they ones that allow adsense and other banner ads?

I have a domain name and am looking forward to having my blog up and running. You ebook is very helpful I have read it 3 times and am making notes. Thanks for the help.

If you have your own domain (whatever.com) and your own hosting, you can do whatever you want with your blog, including AdSense. Some blog templates (themes for WordPress) come with ready-made AdSense ads. You have to replace the AdSense publisher ID in such a theme with your own AdSense Publisher ID, which you get when you sign up for an AdSense account. That’s how the theme for Nursing School Programs works.

Don’t have an AdSense Account?

Do you have a question about blogging? Contact me! Don’t be shy. I won’t reveal your name unless you say it’s okay.

Yes, I do have AdSense, but they’re not making any cents for me, LOL. It’s been almost a year, and my AdSense counter sits at 50 USD, LOL.

@Pelf: I’m sorry to hear that! :( There is plenty of great information online about how to improve your AdSense earnings, but some blog topics just aren’t a good fit for AdSense. Personal blogs tend to fit that description.

Today I registered for Google AdSense accounts for a few clients (some of my blogs as well). One of the blogs, http://www.soldonroswell.com got approval within the hour, two other sites, http://www.mtobikes.com and http://www.auntbrenda.com are still awaiting approval. Can you shed light as to why one the one got such fast approval when the others did not? Of the three the one that got approved is the least trafficked site.
