Daniel at Daily Blog Tips just dropped a mighty fine WordPress plugin called Homepage Excerpts. Its purpose is to help you avoid having duplicate content in your blog by only allowing a user-specified number of posts to be full posts on the home page of your blog. The rest of them use excerpts, which, if you’re a better blogger, you’re dutifully writing when you create a post. The one or three or whatever full posts on your home page won’t be there long enough to be considered duplicate content by Google (let’s not kid ourselves by saying “search engines”), because your new posts will push them below the threshold for full posts.
I really like this plugin! You know why? Because I can’t ever remember to put that freakin’ “more” tag in my posts!
And now I don’t have to.
