I’m very happy to announce that I’ve been asked to redesign a famously local meme, Eat More Kale. Eat More Kale stickers are on hundreds of vehicles throughout not only Vermont, but much of New England and elsewhere around the world. The main man behind behind Eat More Kale, Bo Muller-Moore (his wife, Melissa, is the main woman behind Eat More Kale), has had people tell him they’ve seen the round, green, Eat More Kale stickers on vehicles in the Pacific Northwest, as well. He has gotten mail from people all over the world, and pictures from places as far away as Kazakhstan showing people wearing Eat More Kale shirts.
Bo sells his shirts online, and decided it was time to update the look and capabilities of the site. He’s got some new stuff coming out, like women’s styles that aren’t on the current site. My skills and services were recommended by a mutual friend whom I work with on some projects under the name of Montpelier Open Source.
Ever since I became convinced that blogs were the way to go for over 99% of all businesses, I’ve been looking for a chance like this. If ever a site needed the kind of community sensibility and feedback a good blog can provide, it’s Eat More Kale. One of the things we’re going to do is have a special section where people can submit their own stories of wearing the shirts and dealing with funny questions from people (many folks have no idea what kale is). Not only are we going to do an Eat More Kale blog (”Blog More Kale?”), but we’re also blogging the entire process of redesigning the site. Anybody is welcome to comment during the process.
